I really wanted to know more of the back story hinted at when Hastings and Bates are standing on the deck. Hastings bemoans the woman inside singing “The Army of Today’s All Right” and “The Kashmiri Love Song,” after he’d explicitly asked for no soldier songs or Indian love lyrics and ticks Bates off for his 'civilians' comment. In the midst of all the comic moments Hastings supplies, this is a rare glimpse of something dark in his past, most likely related to his WW1 service. It is morning, in the salon. She mentions that Poirot was missed at dinner the night before, but then acknowledges that his absence was understandable, since the sea was rough the night before.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8555477445321605035.post-46507360354185925572015-02-01T23:42:04.469+01:002015-02-01T23:42:04.469+01:00Impressive they had the budget to go to Greece for...Impressive they had the budget to go to Greece for their first series.

Geoffrey Beevers and Caroline John were married in real life too.

The telescope walking stick appears in other episodes too.
